Refund policy.
This policy sets out when and how refunds apply for work carried out by Besen. It should be read alongside the Terms of service.
1. Overview
I want you to be happy with what you pay for. If something isn’t working out, email me before anything else. In most cases a conversation resolves it faster than a formal process. The specifics below apply when a refund is the right answer.
2. Fixed-price monthly services
Hosting, system administration and light marketing are billed monthly in advance.
- You may cancel at any time with 30 days’ written notice. You will not be billed beyond that period.
- Payments for the current billing period are non-refundable once the period has begun, except as set out in the trial period below.
- Services continue in full until the end of the current period.
3. Trial period
New monthly services include a 7-day trial. If you cancel within 7 days of the service starting and no material work has been performed, I will issue a full refund of the first month’s fee.
“Material work” means any provisioning, configuration, content production, or audit work that cannot reasonably be reversed.
4. One-off services
Audits (including SEO audits) and other one-off work are billed on engagement.
- Fully refundable until I begin the work.
- Non-refundable once work has started. You will still receive whatever partial output has been produced up to that point.
5. Custom projects
Project deposits secure my time and are non-refundable once work has begun.
- If you cancel mid-project, you are liable for work completed up to the cancellation date. Any balance held above that figure will be refunded.
- You will receive all files produced to that point, whether or not they are finished.
6. How to request a refund
Email me@besen.co.uk with:
- The service or project the refund relates to.
- The invoice number or approximate date of payment.
- A short note on what you’d like refunded and why.
I reply within a working day.
7. Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 7 working days, via the same payment method used for the original transaction. If that isn’t possible (for example, because the original card is no longer valid), we will agree an alternative.
8. Disputes and governing law
If we cannot agree, UK consumer law and the terms of service apply. Any statutory rights you have as a consumer are unaffected by this policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are handled in the courts of England and Wales.
